Discussions indicated that TSP’s production is on an upward trend mainly as a result of successful productive workovers in the Samaan field and the installation of Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESP’s) in the Poui field. Minister Young was pleased with Perenco’s intent to take a major step with the installation of the power generation Mobile Offshore Production Unit (MOPU) on the Poui field, which is currently being outfitted at Caribbean Dockyard in Chaguaramas. This initiative will take place during the 2nd quarter of 2022 and will bring a green footprint to Perenco’s T&T operations whilst providing the necessary electricity to support the ESP’s.

Minister Young indicated his determination to reduce the country’s carbon footprint. Minister Young also encouraged Perenco’s team to continue their investments and take advantage of new opportunities in order to extract maximum returns within the next 5 years.
