Persons who have submitted their applications online via email are assured that their applications have been received for verification and processing, and are not required to submit any further application to the Regional Offices.
To date, the Ministry received over 30,000 applications for assistance under the social support measures. A total of 2,991 applications were processed and sent to the Bank for payment whether through direct deposit for the persons who provided a bank account, or by a debit card for those persons who did not have a bank account. It is to be noted that while the direct deposit payments are already in persons’ accounts, TTPost commenced the distribution of debit cards on May 1, 2020 and reports are that some persons have received their cards.

The Ministry of Social Development and Family Services has initiated mechanisms to fast track payments and it is expected that an estimated 4,000 payments will be made on a weekly basis.

The Ministry of Social Development and Family Services remains committed to bringing relief to those who have been negatively affected by the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic to ensure that no one is left behind as we begin to chart the road to recovery.
