The Ministry of Health has released the regulations which will govern the sale of food and drinks by restaurants and street vendors from tomorrow.
In a press release Sunday, the ministry also revealed the new regulations for outdoor sport and exercise in public places, which will also be allowed to resume.
Regulation 3(1) of the Emergency Powers Regulation will take effect from tomorrow (July 19) and authorises the sale of food and drinks by restaurants and street vendors, but only by means of pick-up, curbside pick-up and drive-through until further notice.
Regulation 3(11) meanwhile allows for restaurants, caterers and those in the food industry to supply and distribute prepared meals to supermarkets, markets, greengrocers, bakeries, poultry depots, retail membership discount stores, wholesale stores for the provision of food, medicine and other necessities, pharmacies, convenience marts at gas stations and for those ordering catered food.
“Customers and operators of the abovementioned establishments are reminded that in-house dining shall remain strictly prohibited and that there shall be no consumption of any food or drink on the precincts, premises or roadside of said establishments and that the sale of alcohol shall also remain strictly prohibited,” the release stated.
The ministry said customers and operators must also comply with other requirements of the Emergency Power Regulations.
As for public exercise and team sports, the ministry said groups of no more than five people are allowed to participate in outdoor sports and exercise in public places.
