Eleven days after a New Grant family lost two members in a savage cutlass attack, police successfully hunted down the alleged killer on Wednesday night.

The suspect is in custody at the Marabella Police Station until investigators are ready to interrogate him about the murders of Monica Jagroop and her brother-in-law Anterro McQueen on November 7.

After gathering information on the suspect’s hideout, detectives from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations: Region III led a joint operation with the Southern Division Task Force and Mayaro Police to a camp at New Lands, Guayaguyare. There they found the suspect hiding out. The officers also recovered a cutlass and will send it for testing to determine whether it was the murder weapon.
