Police are investigating two murders in St James and San Fernando.
A 27-year-old man was shot dead in a corridor of his home in St James yesterday morning.
According to a police report, at about 8.30 am residents of Dundonald Hill, St James, saw the body of Derrick Atwell George lying on the ground along the corridor.
George, police said, was shot in the chest and arms.
Police are yet to determine a motive for the killing.
A construction worker was gunned down while liming with friends under a house in San Fernando.
Dead is Akeem Newton, 31, of Picton Settlement, Diamond Village, San Fernando.
Police said around 4.30 pm Newton was among a group of people sitting under a house in an unfurnished apartment at Picton Street, Picton Settlement.
A man wearing a mask approached them, pulled out a gun and shot Newton twice.
The gunman then ran off. Newton died on the scene.
Officers of the San Fernando CID and Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region 3 visited the crime scene.
