Calvin Maurice

Calvin Maurice is the new chief executive officer of the National Entrepreneurship Development Company Ltd (Nedco).

Maurice was appointed became effective on August 10.

“Maurice is a proven leader with over 20 years of experience in the field of business management and sustainable micro-enterprise development. His previous leadership roles include CEO of the Export Centres Company Ltd where he successfully drove the development of craft entrepreneurs,” a release from Nedco stated yesterday.

“Maurice has also steered many private sector micro-enterprise initiatives over the last nine years.”

Maurice holds a master’s degree in business administration with a specialisation in leadership and innovation and is a doctoral candidate focusing on policy development for the microfinancing of SMEs in T&T.

He is also an associate member of the Association of Business Executives in the United Kingdom.

“The Nedco board of directors, management and staff welcome Mr Maurice and are confident that his years of experience, understanding and knowledge of sustainable micro-enterprise development will successfully drive the next exciting phase for Nedco, as the company continues to fulfill its role as the state enterprise tasked with the development of the micro and small enterprises sector,” Nedco stated.

Nedco was established by the government in 2002 with a mandate to develop micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in T&T whose needs cannot be met by traditional lending agencies.
