One month after a major shakeup of the Point Lisas Port Development Corporation Ltd (PLIPDECO) board of directors, following the resignation of its chairman, his deputy and three other members, a new director has been appointed to the board.

The newest director is St Clair O’Neil.

O’Neil’s appointment, which was announced by the T&T Securities and Exchange Commission (TTSEC) yesterday, was effective July 8.

On June 17, Ian Atherly resigned as chairman with immediate effect along with four others.

On that day, Haroon Awardy resigned as deputy chairman along with Prakash Ramnarine, Ibn Llama DeLeon and Dale Sookoo.

Daniel Dookie has now been named as Plipdeco’s new chairman.

Richardo Garcia, Haydn Jones, Sunil Maharaj and Cindy Mason have also been appointed to the Plipdeco board.

Charles Percy continues to serve as a board member.

Plipdeco made the announcement pursuant to Section 64(1) of the Securities Act 2012.

“The corporation wishes to express its gratitude to the outgoing directors for their dedicated service to the company and extend a warm welcome to the new members of the board of directors,” corporate secretary Richelle Lyman stated. Plipdeco recorded a profit of $20.67 million for the three months ended March 31, 2021.
