Twenty-eight-year-old Denzil Miguel of New Grant was granted $200,000 bail when he appeared before a Princes Town Magistrate today charged with robbery with violence and assault with intent to rob. The following is a press release from the TTPS:
A 28-year-old man was granted $200,000 bail with a surety after appearing virtually before a Princes Town Magistrate today charged for robbery with violence and assault with intent to rob. DENZIL MIGUEL, 28, of Third Branch, Monkey Town, New Grant, pleaded not guilty to the offence and will reappear on November 5th when the matter is expected to be heard.
On September 30th, a woman and her companion reported to the police that around 10.30 am on the same date, while at her home, someone called her name and when she opened the door to her home.
She was then allegedly confronted by two men armed with guns, who proceeded robbed her of $20,000 worth of gold jewellery. It is also alleged that the men assaulted the woman’s companion. MIGUEL’s arrest came after investigations were conducted by Cpl (Ag.) Khan of the Princes Town Criminal Investigations Department.
