Kamla worried about powers given to AG under Anti-Terrorism Bill

A bitter legislative battle ended today as both Government and Opposition voted in favour of the Anti-Terrorism Bill.

In the Parliament today, there were compromises on both sides to ensure the special majority legislation got the greenlight before the Parliamentary term ended.

Just a few hours earlier, it appeared that the bill was destined to lapse.

At a political meeting last evening Opposition Leader Kamla Persad Bissessar explained that some provisions in the legislation give the Attorney General too much power.
