A man was shot and killed near the Beetham landfill this morning.
CNC3 news understands a passerby stumbled upon the lifeless body around 6 am and notified the authorities.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the man, who is yet to be identified, may have been homeless.
The body bore a single gunshot wound to the head. While the crime scene was being processed, it caused a severe gridlock coming into the capital, traffic spanned from as far back as Mausica in the east and even spilt over onto the Uriah Butler highway.
Now several frustrated motorists who spent hours in traffic were wondering why the priority bus route was not opened to ease the traffic.
Akash Samaroo explains why it did not happen.
