The Ministry of Health has recorded nine additional COVID-19 related deaths and 1,081 new cases.
The ministry’s release yesterday stated that the people were one elderly male, three elderly females, two middle-aged males and three middle-aged females.
This brings the total number of virus-related deaths to 3,381.
Five people had multiple comorbidities, one patient only had one comorbidity and three people had no known medical conditions.
The number of cases reported reflected the samples taken during the period January 22 to 28, and not the last 24 hours.
Active cases stood at 19,660, while the country’s caseload rose to 110,741.
Regarding the population’s vaccination status, 710,257 people have received their first dose of a two-dose regimen, while 689,743 people were fully vaccinated.
