The Ministry of National Security says there will be no lifeguards at closed beaches. In light of this, it is asking people to exercise caution.

The Ministry of National Security wishes to advise the general public and in particular beachgoers, that in light of the temporary closure of beach facilities at Maracas/Tyrico Bay, Las Cuevas, Los Iros, Quinam, Manzanilla, Mayaro, Salybia, Toco and Vessigny, there will be no lifeguard services at these locations until further notice.
The decision to temporarily close these facilities is in keeping with Government’s recommended guidelines arising out of the COVID-19 global pandemic.
The Ministry of National Security also advises that the public adhere to the protocols spelt out by Government to help manage and mitigate the spread of Covid-19.
Persons should exercise caution at all times and take responsibility for their personal safety and security.
