Investigators are expected to approach the Director of Public Prosecutions today on whether or not charges should be laid against a couple in connection with the murder of businessman Christopher Hosein.

Hosein, 44, was beaten and then set on fire while he was still alive. His charred body was found in his burnt vehicle on October 28 at a dirt road off Tasker Road, Ste Madeleine.

A 23-year-old woman and the 28-year-old man were arrested later that day.

Hosein would have known the woman, police said.

He worked in the Judiciary as a health and safety officer and was also the managing director of Experts Fire and Safety Limited which he operated at his St James Street, Princes Town home.

He was last seen alive at his home the night before.

It is believed that he was attacked at his home and then taken to the dirt road. Police said his body was found partially on fire.

An autopsy revealed that death was due to blunt force trauma and smoke inhalation.
