One man was arrested for possession of a firearm and ammunition, and a quantity of marijuana and cocaine were seized during an anti-crime exercise in Morvant yesterday.
According to police reports, during the exercise, officers of the North Eastern Division searched a home in “Vegas”, 2nd Caledonia, Morvant, where they found one AR 15 assault rifle with one round 7.62 ammunition. One person was arrested. The suspect was arrested and taken to the Morvant Police Station. The exercise was spearheaded by Snr Supt Phillip, Supt MaynardWilson and (Ag) Supt Alexander, and coordinated by Sgt Martin (Ag) and Cpl Majeed (Ag).
In a separate incident, officers found and seized 27 grams of marijuana and 28 grams of cocaine in an abandoned lot in the Barataria area.
Investigations are continuing.
