One man was jailed while four others were slapped with fines totally over $.6 million for being in possession of a firearm.
Cassius Captita, of Rancho Quemado, who has pending matters and convictions for firearm-related offences was sentenced to two years in prison.
His co-accused Sunil Hudson, 45, Wendell Singh, 44, Shawn Henry, 20 and Casiel Hankey, 31, were spared jail, but they were slapped with hefty fines,
All five pleaded guilty during a virtual hearing before San Fernando Magistrate Anslem Leander.
They were arrested at Church Street, Duncan Village, San Fernando, on October 8 after the police stopped a silver Tiida that was speeding.
The court heard that when PC Roopchand approached the vehicle the driver was acting suspiciously.
The officer ordered the five men out of the vehicle and searched them, but found nothing illegal.
However, a firearm was found in the vehicle. Hudson, of Gasparillo and San Fernando, Singh, of Church Street, San Fernando and Hankey of Moruga were each fined $180,000.
They were given six months to pay the fines. Henry, of Gasparillo, who had no previous convictions or pending matter was fined $120,000 and give eight months to pay the money.
If they fail to pay the fines, they would each serve five years in prison.
