Police were last night probing the killing of a 27-year-old man who was shot at East Dry River, Port-of-Spain.

Another man was also injured in the attack.

The incident took place around 5.57 pm and the victim has been identified as Kazim Abdul of North West Drive, Diego Martin.

A report said Abdul was approaching his booth at the Drag Brother’s Mall on Piccadilly Street when he was approached by two armed suspects.

The suspects reportedly fired several shots hitting him in the abdomen.

The report said Abdul ran to the nearby Besson Street Police Station after which he was taken to the Port hospital.

Police said the other victim, identified as Glen Bousigac, was near the mall and about to enter his vehicle after making a purchase at a nearby shop.

He was was shot in his head by the two suspects. Bousigac was also taken to hospital by the police where he remained warded last night.

Police said information revealed that both suspects escaped the crime scene through the back of the mall.

Police officers checked the immediate area but the suspects were not found.

Also visiting the scene were Insp Soodeen, Inps Sooklalsingh, acting Insp Knott and acting Sgt Matthew.
