Former vice-president of Pan Trinbago, Keith Byer and other members of the pan fraternity gathered outside of Pan Trinbago’s office at the corner of Duke and Melbourne streets Port-of-Spain yesterday to show their displeasure with the current president Beverley Ramsey-Moore.

In making reference to Pan Trinbago’s constitution, Byer said that Ramsey-Moore’s three-year term in office has come to an end and they will continue to demand that she step down and call an election.

They are adamant that there is no reason to continue to postpone the election.

Byer said they have offered numerous suggestions on how an election can be conducted safely in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, Byer claimed that Ramsey-Moore had refused and was hiding under the cover of the pandemic to extend her term in office.

Ramsey-Moore was elected President of Pan Trinbago in October 2018.

When contacted by Guardian Media, Ramsey-Moore said the election had not been postponed.

She said what had been postponed was the general convention which must be constitutionally held before the election and added that the meeting had been postponed by only three months.

Ramsey-Moore said she was committed to holding the convention which would give the president a chance to present the audited financial statements thus giving accountability for the finances of the organisation

Ramsey-Moore said 60 per cent of the membership must be present in order to hold the meeting and this was not possible at the moment because of the low vaccination rate.

The PanTrinbago president appealed to members of the pan fraternity to get vaccinated.
