Penal Chamber congratulates the PNM on election victory

The Penal Debe Chamber of Commerce has extended congratulations to the People’s National Movement on its victory in Monday’s General election.

Chamber President Rampersad Sieuraj noted that the citizenry had exercised their civic duty and placed their faith in taking the country forward in the hands of the People’s National Movement.

The Chamber said it looks forward to the “economic growth and development of Trinidad and Tobago, the proper management of COVID-19, reconciliation and healing of our people, Transparency, Accountability and Better Governance of our twin island state.

The Chamber is also advocating to the country’s new dispensation, the alleviation of poverty, equitable income distribution, solution to our rampant crime situation, greater employment opportunities for our beleaguered working population, especially our youths and graduates amongst other inequities.

Sieuraj said “our challenges are multiple given our limited income stream, our debt to GDP ratio, COVID-19 and the overall International Economic Environment. However, our elected government needs to be magnanimous in victory to harness the collective responsibility of our people on our way forward.”
