The Prime Minister has once again jumped to the Defence of the Coast Guard who has found itself in hot waters after a baby was killed during a confrontation over the weekend with a vessel of migrants.
Speaking on Thursday in Maloney, Dr Keith Rowley rejected all attacks on the officers calling them “murderers”.
He said while it is unfortunate that a life was lost in the line of defence, people must remember the job of the Coast Guard, which is to protect the country’s borders from illegal entry of not only people but weapons.
Dr Rowley told the officers to not lose sight of their “very important” job.
“We cannot let up on that assignment,” he told the officers.
