Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has appealed to citizens not to play Russian roulette with the COVID-19 virus.

Speaking at the sod-turning ceremony for the new Ministry of Health headquarters at Queen’s Park East, Port-of-Spain, Dr Rowley said the country’s health system has to be protected so that it is not overwhelmed by a sudden crisis if people choose to be careless.

Dr Rowley said there be cost savings on the new building, construction of which will begin in early 2021, as there will be an amalgamation of the Ministry of Health’s services which are currently spread across the capital.
