PNM Tobago Council celebrates Khan's life

The Tobago Council of the People’s National Movement (PNM) has sents condolences to the family of former party chairman and Energy Minister Franklin Khan, saying he is remembered for his contributions to the party and country.

“The Members of the Tobago Council of the People’s National Movement are deeply saddened by the loss of PNM stalwart, Former Party Chairman and Minister of Energy Franklin Khan.

His contribution to the party and to national development will forever be part of his legacy.

In expressing condolences, Political Leader of the Tobago Council, Tracy Davidson-Celestine lauded the late Minister “for his valiant and selfless service to the people of Trinidad and Tobago. We have lost a true patriot, who will be remembered for his enduring service to the country. We join his family as we mark this tremendous loss and celebrate his life.”

“He was always willing to listen and to encourage. There is so much that we can learn from him. Even through trying times when he had his legal battles he was always pleasant with his unique smile and showed much tenacity. He is gone but will never be forgotten,” Davidson-Celestine added.

Chairman of the Tobago Council, Mr. Stanford Callender, recalled his time serving with the late Minister said he is, “..both shocked and saddened by his passing. We were parliamentary colleagues between 2002 and 2007. He was an MP then. We had an excellent relationship when he was Chairman of the party. He was outstanding in this role and operated with a sense of pragmatism. He had a vision for the party and was full of commitment and passion for the organisation. His love for Tobago was always apparent.”
