Quick work by officers of the Southern Division resulted in the rescue of a kidnap victim and the arrest of three suspects in Woodland this week. According to police reports, a report was made to police around 11:20 pm, on June 11th, that a male victim of the Pleasantville district was seen being assaulted by individuals clad in police uniforms and taken away in a black coloured SUV.
Officers of the Southern Division Task Force and Emergency Response Patrol responded to the report and subsequently intercepted the vehicle along Pluck Road, Woodland, with the victim and three male suspects. A search of the vehicle resulted in officers finding one Beretta pistol loaded with a magazine containing 15 rounds of ammunition. The three suspects, all of the Southern Division and one of whom is a police constable, were arrested in connection with the incident, while the victim was taken for medical treatment.
Investigations are ongoing.
