Police continue crackdown on illegal weapons and drugs

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is asking the public’s assistance with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects involved in the recent seizure of illegal weapons, drugs and camouflage clothing.

This, as the TTPS continues its crackdown on illegal weapons and drugs in this country.

According to a police report, the seizure was made during a crime suppression exercise on Thursday 14th May 2020, in the Aranguez district, led by officers of the North-Eastern Division Task Force (NEDTF).

The illicit items were found during the execution of several search warrants in the Mt. Lambert Circular Road area. They include: one firearm; two magazines; 25 rounds of 9 mm ammunition; 1.7 kilogrammes of marijuana; and camouflage attire.

The seized narcotics has an estimated value of TT$20,000.

The anti-crime exercise was spearheaded by Snr. Supt. Phillip, W/Supt. Maynard-Wilson and Supt. Alexander, coordinated by Sgt (Ag.), Martin and supervised by Cpl (Ag.), Majeed of the NEDTF.

The TTPS is asking that anyone with information that can bolster the officers’ investigations, and which will lead to the arrest of the suspects in this case, to urgently contact:
