A police corporal is now in custody assisting officers in their investigations into a stabbing incident that occurred at his home on Ash Wednesday morning.
According to a police report, at about 5 am the police officer, who is currently assigned to the North Eastern Division, went to the Longdenville home of his estranged wife on after allegedly being told that a man was seen entering the house.
The corporal told investigators that when he got to the house and went inside he was allegedly attacked by the man.
During the fight, the man was stabbed multiple times about the body.
Police said the corporal’s wife was also stabbed.
The man, who is in his late 20s and the corporal’s wife were both taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility where they were treated.
Investigators said the corporal’s wife had taken out a protection order against him.
