Police made a big bust in illegal drugs when they seized marijuana valued over TT$3 million at Cumana Village yesterday.

The marijuana carried a total weight of 200 lbs (91 kgs).

According to reports, police officers attached to Sangre Grande Crime Investigation Department and Eastern Division Task Force went to an abandoned house at Anglais Road, Cumana Village, Toco where they discovered several bales of marijuana in the forms of cylindrical and rectangular shapes wrapped in clear plastic.

The marijuana was seized and taken by police to the Sangre Grande Police Station where it was weighed.

The marijuana was identified as high-grade Vincy weed, which is sold at $36,224 per kilo.

No arrest was made.

The exercise was coordinated by the head of the Eastern Division Senior Supt Augilal, and supervised by ASP Gabriel Joseph.
