Investigating police officers are yet to establish the identity of a man who was the apparent victim of a hit and run accident. Police suspect the man was struck and killed by a vehicle along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway, St Augustine, on Saturday.
According to a police report, around 1.30 am police officers responded to what was believed to be a “hit and run” accident where they found the body of the unidentified man on the westbound lane of the highway near Spring Village.
Police recovered from the body a hat and bag containing personal items but no identification documents as to who the victim may be.
Police said the victim was believed to be in his late forties or early to mid-50s, dark brown in complexion, about six feet tall and about 200 pounds.
Anyone with information as to who the accident victim maybe have been asked to contact the police hotline or the nearest police station.
