Two AR-15 rifles, a MAC-10 submachine gun, a homemade pistol, crossbow, two bulletproof vests, ammunition and marijuana, were found by officers of the North Eastern Division during an anti-crime in Morvant yesterday.


According to police reports, during the exercise, officers acting on information, proceeded to Nine Storeys, Almond Drive, Morvant, where they searched an elevator shaft. The search resulted in one black AR-15 rifle loaded with a magazine containing 15 rounds of ammunition, one black AR-15 rifle loaded with a magazine containing 20 rounds of ammunition, one black MAC-10 submachine gun loaded with a magazine containing ten rounds of ammunition and a silencer attached to the barrel, one homemade pistol, one crossbow, two bulletproof vests and 72 grammes of marijuana being found in the elevator shaft.
The exercise spearheaded by Snr Supt Phillip, W/Supt (Ag) Maynard-Wilson, Supt. (Ag) Alexander, coordinated by Sgt (Ag) Martin and supervised by Cpl Daniel, was conducted between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm.
Investigations are ongoing.
