Two firearms and a quantity of ammunition were discovered by officers of the Central Division during an anti-crime exercise in Caroni.
According to police reports, officers conducted the exercise between 9 pm and 11 pm, on January 14tth during which they proceeded to Caroni South Bank Road, Caroni, where they conducted a search of a bushy area under a coconut tree.

The search resulted in officers finding one crocus bag containing a shotgun along with thirty-one 12 gauge cartridges and a Glock pistol with eight rounds of ammunition. The exercise was supervised by Snr. Supt. Simon and Supt. Pierre and included officers of the Central Division Task Force. Investigations are ongoing.
