The body of a man which was found at the bottom of the Marlin’s swimming pool on Morne Coco Road in Diego Martin last Wednesday, has been identified as an 18-year-old from Diego Martin.
Guardian Media was told that fingerprints were lifted from the body and traced to the deceased’s relatives on Tuesday.
At the Forensic Science Centre, the body was positively identified by a female relative, to be Joshua Alexander.
It was reported to the police that at about 5 pm last Wednesday they heard screams coming from the vicinity of the pool.
Police said responding officers, who had to force their way through a gate on the northern side of the compound, saw the body of a man lying at the bottom of the pool.
Police said they were told that several young men jumped over the wall of the compound and were seen bathing in the pool.
It is believed that Alexander got into difficulties and went under but was left there by his friends, who ran out of the pool and away from the compound.
