The body of a man, which was found last Wednesday at the bottom of the swimming pool at St Anthony’s College, on Morne Coco Road in Diego Martin, has been identified as that of an 18-year-old from Diego Martin.

At the Forensic Science Centre, a female relative positively identified the body to be that of Joshua Alexander.

Guardian Media was told that fingerprints were lifted from the body and traced to the deceased’s relatives on Tuesday.

It was reported to the police that at about 5 pm, screams were heard coming from the vicinity of the pool.

Police said responding officers, who had to force their way through a gate on the northern side of the compound, saw the body of a man lying at the bottom of the pool.

Police said that they were told that several young men had jumped over the wall of the compound and had been seen bathing in the pool.

It is believed that Alexander got into difficulties and went under, but was left there by his friends, who ran out of the pool and fled the compound.
