Anime & comic book characters to parade through POS tomorrow

On Friday from 12 noon onward, Anime, Comic book and movie characters will take over the streets of Port of Spain.

As a part of its annual comic convention event, ALIAS Entertainment Expo will host its three-day convention (27th to 29th July) at the Centre of Excellence starting with the largest cosplay parade through the streets of Port of Spain, ending at Woodford Square.

The event is FREE to the public.

Cosplay or 'costume play' is the art and skill of recreating the costume, performance and attitude of your favourite superhero, movie, video game, TV or comic book character.

Following the parade, the five factions or teams presented under this year’s ‘Mythical Realm’ theme will engage in A live action role-playing game or ‘LARP’ (a form of role-playing game where the participants physically portray their characters) and will set up their camps in Woodford Square to recruit adventurers for the quests to be completed by the five kingdoms to come over the ALIAS weekend. Entry is free of charge and the public is invited to attend and participate.

The ALIAS weekend has in the past focused on pop-culture art forms from floor & video games, informative panels and workshops on cutting edge topics like robotics, story-writing, comic creation and costume crafting sessions.
