Another man charged with forged currency

A 37-year-old man is expected to appear before a Mayaro Magistrate today, after he was arrested and charged with the possession of forged currencies, by officers of the Mayaro CID, early this morning.

Candel Kern Pierre, a labourer, of St. Ann’s Village, was driving his burgundy Nissan Almera motor vehicle along Beaumont Road, Mayaro, when he was stopped by officers on mobile patrol in the area, around 2:20am, on Friday 8th June, 2018.

A search was conducted and 29 TT$10 notes and 2 US$20 notes were discovered in his possession.

Upon closer inspection of the notes, officers discovered there were unusual markings on them and they all had the same serial numbers.

Pierre was charged by PC Chris Rampersad, of the Mayaro CID, on Friday 8th June, 2018.
