Government is being told to get its act together and deal with the country's crime situation.

An editorial published in the Nation newspaper in Barbados today calls on the Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley to take responsibility for the situation and bring it under control.

It says spiraling criminality is citizens greatest area of concern, lamenting the murder rate has already passed 112 for the year.

It says this is not a statistic of which this country can be proud.

What's even more worrying is that the editorial warns that Barbados needs to pay special attention to the crime situation in this country and ensure the levels of crime do not spread across borders and undermine Barbados' stability.

It also cautions its nationals visiting this country to avoid areas like Laventille, Morvant, Sealots, South Belmont and even inside the Queen's Park Savannah.
