Two brothers from Coryal have been jointly charged with the murder of Keshore Ramadin, which occurred on Wednesday 21st September, 2017.
Kyle Koonj-Beharry, 19, of Cumuto Old Road, Housing Village, Coryal and his 17-year-old brother, also face charges of wounding with intent and robbery with aggravation against the victim’s common-law-wife wife, 51-year-old Taramatie Tambie.
Kyle faces additional charges of possession of firearm to endanger life, and possession of ammunition to endanger life.
The minor was also charged with possession of a cutlass.
Ramadin, 52, and his wife, Taramatie, both of Cumuto Old Road, Housing Village, Coryal were seated in his maxi taxi outside their home on Wednesday 21st September, 2017, when they were approached by two assailants, armed with a gun and a cutlass.
The assailants proceeded to shoot at Ramadin, before dragging him out of the vehicle and slitting his throat.
Tambie also suffered a bullet wound to the chest.
The incident is alleged to have stemmed from a land dispute.
Kyle Koonj-Beharry and his younger brother were charged by PC Larry Mc Queen of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region 2, on Sunday 1st October, 2017 after advice was received from Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, George Busby on Saturday 30th September, 2017.
