Caribbean Airlines is denying reports that one of its aircraft ran off the runway at the ANR Robinson Airport in Tobago today.
Caribbean Airlines says that flight BW 3502 landing at the ANR Robinson International Airport, Tobago was brought to a stop at the end of the runway at the ANR Robinson International Airport in keeping with standard operating procedures, after the cockpit crew was alerted by a strong smell of alcohol in the aircraft.
The airline says in a statement issued just after midday Friday, that the aircraft landed safely and was towed to a gate position where all passengers and crew disembarked.
The aircraft has been withdrawn from service and all appropriate inspections and procedures are in progress to return the aircraft to service in good time.
Caribbean Airlines says it wants to assure all stakeholders that safety is its number one priority and is thanking customers for their continued support and understanding.
