Ferry passengers held with ganja

Two men were ar­rest­ed in To­ba­go on Wednes­day night for pos­ses­sion of a quan­ti­ty of mar­i­jua­na as they dis­em­barked the T&T Spir­it. The mar­i­jua­na’s es­ti­mat­ed street val­ue was over $250,000.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, Task Force of­fi­cers un­der the su­per­vi­sion of Ag Sgt Yorke made the ar­rests dur­ing an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise on the Scar­bor­ough Port be­tween 7.30 pm and 9.15 pm.

A 24-year-old man of Store Bay Lo­cal Road, Crown Point, was held with 20 pack­ets of com­pressed mar­i­jua­na stored in buck­ets in a ve­hi­cle. Po­lice al­so ar­rest­ed a 24-year-old street ven­dor from Dar­rel Spring, Scar­bor­ough, for pos­ses­sion of 127 grams of mar­i­jua­na worth $30,000 found hid­den in a pump­kin among oth­er pro­duce.

Both men are sched­uled to ap­pear be­fore a Scar­bor­ough Mag­is­trate to­day.
