Four men of Orange Valley, Couva, have been arrested in connection with the robbery of a boat engine and destruction of property.
On Sunday, May 29th a 54-year-old watchman was on duty at the Orange Valley jetty, aboard a long boat, when he noticed two men known to him detaching the engine of the boat.
The watchman raised an alarm and was accosted by the men, who tied him up and locked him in the boat's storage area.
The watchman managed escaped and went to the boat owners' residence to explain what happened.
The owner of the boat and the watchman returned to the scene and noticed the boat along with 700 ft of fishing net engulfed in flames.
Couva CID officers conducted enquires in the Claxton Bay and Orange Valley areas and were able to recover the stolen engine and arrested the four suspects.
