19-year-old Marcus Mahabir appeared before a Princes Town Magistrate Court charged with the murder of Mahendra Moonsammy.

A Gasparillo man has appeared before a Princes Town Magistrate, charged with the murder of Mahendra Moonsammy, which occurred on Sunday 2nd July, 2017.
MARCUS MAHABIR, 19, a labourer of Bedeau Street, Gasparillo, appeared before Magistrate Michelle Maharaj-Browne, in the Princes Town 1st Magistrates’ Court, on Monday 4th December, 2017, to answer to the charge.
The matter was adjourned to Friday 29th December, 2017. Mr. Moonsammy, 25, a labourer, of Indian Walk, Moruga, was liming close to his home on Sunday 2nd July, 2017, when he got into an altercation with a man over money owed to him for an excursion.
During the incident, the man stabbed the victim about the body before running off. Mr. Moonsammy was taken to hospital, where he died.
MAHABIR, was charged by PC Terrance Rahim, of Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region 3, on Sunday 3rd December, 2017.
