High Court Judge Jacqueline Wilson has reserved her decision on an application filed by Opposition Member of Parliament Dr Roodal Moonilal's which seeks to block debate on the report of the Privileges Committee against him.
Justice Wilson heard lengthy legal submissions at the Hall of Justice in Port-of-Spain, yesterday afternoon. She did not set an exact time for the delivery of her decision. However, she gave the undertaking that it would be provided before the debate is scheduled to kick off at 1.30 pm.
Senior Counsel Anand Ramlogan is leading Moonilal's legal team.
The contempt of Parliament allegations against the Opposition MP stems from statements he made in the House of Representatives on October 9 and 10, last year.
