Maloney barber charged with murder

The man accused of setting a fire at the Clayton Ince Pavilion, Flamingo Boulevard, Maloney, that resulted in the death of 51-year-old, Anthony ‘Bones’ Paul, appeared before an Arima 1st Magistrate Court today charged with the victim’s murder.

Police say Jessel Murray aka ‘Hans’ was charged today Tuesday 14th June, 2016, by PC Lee Lopez, of the Homicide Bureau of Investigation, Region 2, following instructions from the Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard.

Murray, a 25 year old barber of Maloney Gardens, appeared before Magistrate Indrani Cedeno who postponed the matter to June 28th, 2016.

Around 7:55am on Friday 3rd June, 2016, police and fire service personnel responded to a report of a fire at the pavilion.

On arrival fire services personnel extinguished the blaze and shortly afterwards they made checks and discovered the burnt body of the deceased in a storeroom, at the eastern side of the pavilion.
