A 43-year-old woman has died after being pulled from a house fire in St Helena.
Reports indicate that she Dhanmattie Radoo was trapped by burglar-proofing within her house around 11 pm Wednesday night.
Fire officers and neighbours managed to get her out of the burning building and rushed Radoo to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex with burns to her feet and hands.
However, doctors say Radoo suffered a heart attack which they believe was caused by other health concerns, combined with the injuries she suffered.
Express reporter Anna Ramdass posted on Facebook that the victim was her cousin.
Ramdass said in her post that "the taps were dry and not a drop of water to kill the flames".
She expressed how Radoo had a tough life and had almost died when her car turned over in an accident this year.
Radoo was the mother of three girls.
Investigations are continuing.
