Opposition leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar is criticising the government for being absent during flooding in south Trinidad.
In a release Persad- Bissessar said as thousands of citizens in central and south Trinidad homes remain inundated with floodwaters, the prime minister and members of this government are nowhere to be found.
She wants to remind the prime minister that he is not the prime minister of PNM constituencies alone and that he is duty-bound to protect all citizens.
The opposition leader is calling on Dr Rowley to visit Barrackpore, Debe, Penal and witness the extent of what she deems, "a flooding crisis" and for the government to do its job.
This morning the office of the prime minister said the minister of works and transport and the minister of rural and local government joined teams on the ground in Penal to deliver aid to residents accordingly.
