Prime Minister Doctor Keith Rowley says business owners, as well as ordinary citizens, will simply have to do their best with what foreign exchange is available to them.
PM Rowley, who was speaking on I-95 this morning, says this country must work to sustain the availability of foreign exchange.
“We have to manage our consumption of foreign exchange,” the PM says, “because if we spend it out and we cannot earn it back, then that is a kind of bankruptcy, which makes us a pariah in the international community.”
Dr Rowley notes that Trinidad and Tobago has about seven and a half months’ foreign exchange cover, which is well above the international standards.
