Police officers are warning citizens especially around the Yuletide season of robberies and have asked for the exercising of extra vigilance when conducting transactions especially cash transactions.
This warning came on the heels of a robbery involving a store manager as she made her way to the bank to make a deposit on Monday.
The manager, police said, was robbed of cash, bank cards and other important documents.
The incident occurred at about 9.30 am while she was walking along Farfan Street in Arima.
She was on her way to a nearby bank when a man approached her from behind.
The suspect grabbed her handbag. Police said as she attempted to fight off the man and free her bag from his grip another man ran up to her and pushed her to the ground.
Both men escaped with her handbag, which contained over $35,000 in cash, part of which represented the store's sales.
Investigations are continuing.
