A squad of 27 Coast Guard and Defence Force Officers are currently training at the Laventille Community Swimming Pool.
They are learning interactive and life-saving skills so they can participate in swimming activities with pool users when the pool is officially opened to the public on Monday 22nd July 2019.
Guardian Media understands that the officers started training yesterday and will continue all weekend.
Children seen playing outside the pool's entrance told us that they are excited and can't wait until Monday so that they can use the pool.
"We were excited since it was building, I even dream about it," one child said
