Two years hard labour for Ste. Madeleine man

Daniel Felix Reyes a 21-year-old  labourer from Ste. Madeleine has been sentenced to 24 months of hard labour after pleading guilty to charges of possession of a firearm and ammunition. 

Reyes, of Coquette Street, Ste. Madeleine was charged with possession of firearm and possession of ammunition, when he appeared before Magistrate Alicia Chankar, in the San Fernando 1st Magistrates’ Court, on  February 12th. 

 According to police reports, the accused was arrested when officers of the Ste. Madeleine Police Station, who were on foot patrol along Coquette Street, around 5:30 pm, on February 11th had cause to stop and search him.

The search resulted in the officers discovering one semi-automatic Taurus pistol loaded with a magazine containing five rounds of 9mm ammunition in his possession.

 Reyes was arrested in connection with the find and charged by PC Travis Mohess of the Ste. Madeleine Police Station, on February 11th.
