Water supply and traffic disruptions on Churchill Roosevelt Highway

Sunday, November 22, 2015 - 20:00

The Water and Sewerage Authority advises motorists using the east-bound carriageway of the Churchill Roosevelt Highway that there will be a disruption in the flow of traffic due to a broken 30 inch diameter main in the vicinity of Lifestyle Motors, Barataria.

The Authority is mobilising to carry out emergency repair work, which is expected to be completed by 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday November 24th, 2015.

Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes. If utilizing the east-bound carriageway of the Churchill Roosevelt Highway, commuters should proceed with caution and obey the instructions of the Police Officers on duty in the vicinity of the job site.

The isolation of the pipe borne water supply necessary to effect repairs will impact service to the following areas:

  • Aranguez North and South
  • El Socorro Road – North and South
  • Barataria inclusive of the Eastern Main Road
  • Beetham Gardens
  • Along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway from Aranguez to El Socorro
  • Downtown Port-of-Spain

The Authority apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks commuters and customers for their patience and understanding.
