Grammy Award-winning artist Wyclef Jean is the new headline act for the Tobago Jazz Experience (TJE) 2017 World Music Night concert on Friday 28th April, 2017.

Jean replaces neo-soul singer D’Angelo, whose appearance was cancelled due to the death of his grandfather.

A writer, performer, producer and philanthropist, Wyclef Jean has been a powerful force on the international scene, both as a solo act and as founder and guiding member of The Fugees.

He has been rewarded for his creativity and innovation with three Grammy Awards, a spot on the cover of Rolling Stone’s special "Top 50 Hip Hop Players," and the opportunity to make music with such legends as Michael Jackson, Queen, Mick Jagger, Paul Simon, Earth, Wind & Fire, Kenny Rogers, and Tom Jones.

Some of his chart-topping collaborations include Shakira’s hit single Hips Don’t Lie which he co-wrote and is featured on; Ghetto Superstar with former Fugees member Pras; Carlos Santana’s No. 1 single Maria, Maria; and the late Whitney Houston’s My Love is Your Love. He also played a role in launching Beyoncé´s career with Destiny’s Child’s early hit No, No, No.

As a solo artist, Wyclef has released six albums that have sold nearly nine million copies worldwide, including his 1997 debut The Carnival and 2000’s aptly titled The Ecleftic: 2 Sides II a Book.

This musical icon will undoubtedly deliver a show-stopping performance on World Music Night, and will join an already star-studded musical cast that includes dancehall artiste Shabba Ranks, soca sensation Kes the Band and others.
