A 50-year-old man appeared before the Princes Town Magistrates’ Court today, charged with the murder of his common-law wife, Tricia Allison Ramsaran-Ramdass.
Ramesh Sieunarine of Sukhan Trace, Barrackpore, surrendered to police on June 10th.
He was charged on June 15th, 2020 following advice received from Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Joan Honore-Paul.
According to police reports, the victim, Ms Ramsaran–Ramdass, 37, a sales clerk, also of Sukhan Trace, Barrackpore, allegedly got into an argument with a man known to her on June 9th. During the incident, she was strangled and suffered head trauma. Investigations were supervised by Inspector Allister Jones and Superintendent Sean Dhillpaul, both of Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region 3. The accused was formally charged by WPC CallenderSinclair. The matter was postponed to July 14th, 2020.
