Quick-acting cops recover stolen car in minutes

Police officers of the St Margaret Police Station managed to recover a car minutes after a thief took the vehicle off its owner at gunpoint, on Friday 20th August 2021.

Police officers of the St Margaret Police Station managed to recover a car minutes after a thief took the vehicle off its owner at gunpoint, on Friday 20th August 2021.

According to police reports, at around 2pm on Friday, a woman had parked and secured her motor vehicle (a beige Toyota Yaris valued at $80,000), at her home, when shortly afterwards a man entered her home, through an open door, and pointed a firearm at her and announced a robbery.

The man relieved the victim of her mobile phone and the keys for her vehicle, before getting into the car and driving off along Forres Park.

A report was made to the St Margaret Police Station and within minutes, the officers recovered the vehicle, which had been abandoned in a mud track off Tortuga Road, Claxton Bay.

Investigations are continuing.
